Promising Indonesian Export Commodities in 2025

As 2025 begins, Indonesia’s export sector is showing promising signs amid a global economic rebound. Many countries are increasing their demand for Indonesian raw and processed goods, signaling new opportunities for exporters to be more aggressive in pursuing international markets.

Several sectors have demonstrated strong growth, especially coffee, spices, seafood, and furniture. Coffee from Sumatra and Toraja continues to gain popularity in European markets due to its unique flavor and aroma. Meanwhile, herbs like red ginger and temulawak are being sought after in East Asia for their health benefits.

The seafood sector, including shrimp, squid, and tuna, remains a key export to Japan and the United States. In the non-food category, demand for eco-friendly wooden furniture and traditional handicrafts continues to grow in Europe, particularly in Germany and the Netherlands. Products made from rattan and bamboo are especially valued for supporting sustainability.

To keep up with these trends, exporters must continuously innovate and stay informed about trade policies in their target countries, especially concerning environmental standards, labor practices, and product traceability. Many countries now enforce strict regulations on wood-based and seafood products, making certifications increasingly critical.

If Indonesian exporters can rise to the challenge with adaptation and innovation, 2025 could mark a new era of national export growth. The doors to international markets are wide open—it’s now a matter of stepping through them with the right products and strategies.
